Orks, Eldar and more Marines!

With a slight delay from the rapidity of the previous releases, I moved on to some textures that I'd been intending to work on for a while.

Waaagh! Grimjaw

Work on the first Waaagh! Grimjaw Ork texture began several months ago, but because of an oddity in the way the jaw texture was wrapping it was abandonned while I completed the Halved Space Marine texture. With more time on my hands and all other obvious textures completed, I picked up the work I'd left converting my Table Top Ork army into a Dawn of War texture.

Grimjaw's Orks were released on the 8th August, and updated all of the textures that featured anything with green skin, including the Grots. I also took the opportunity to make the ragged loin cloth on one of the models transparent at the edges, so the ragged edge wasn't just an edge against black but was a visibly ragged edge.

Codex Craftworld Eldar

On the same day as a Table Top Ork release, I also released my take on the Eldar Guardian, allowing them to be painted in more of the colour schemes shown in Games Workshop's Codex books. The texture was inspired by a Biel-Tan Swordwind article in White Dwarf, and gives the Eldar a much better look, with the trim colour no longer being used for simple highlights.

The Codex Craftworld Eldar texture for the Guardian was released on the 8th August.

Storm Lords Space Marines

Once again, the Storm Lords were a texture prompted by one of Hangar-8's amazing badge and banner sets. Having created the set for them, people were asking how to do the colour scheme, and the closest so far was my Halved Space Marines texture.

Along came my "Halved infantry with changable helmets" Space Marine, AKA Storm Lords Style Space Marines. Making use of the Eye colour for the helmet and the Secondary colour for the eyes I created a halved texture where the helmet could be a distinct colour, without having to bunch trim and weapons together.

The Storm Lords Style texture was released on the 15th August.
