During the recent spate of image additions, I've also updated the Downloads section to give it a specific "Related Downloads" section. This afternoon, I've been working on making sure that all downloads have the relevant other downloads listed as related. This means that it should now be easier to find useful badges and banners to go with the teamcolour or pattern that you're downloading!

Read more for details and examples of the related downloads, and for news on how I made the page structure of the site more semantic and meainingful.

Related Downloads

Basically, the related downloads section is just a list of links to other useful resources that either complete a set of downloads (e.g. when a complete pattern set is released in three parts, one for the vehicles, one for the infantry and one for the characters) or which can be used with a download (e.g. a badge and banner that can go with a teamcolour file)

One specific example is the Halved Space Marines Infantry pattern. This download is related to the Halved Vehicles section of the pattern pack, as well as the complete Halved Space Marine pattern, which is available if people want everything to be halved and can download 14MB at once!

As well as the textures, the Infantry pattern is also related to the Angels Sanguine and Angels of Redemptions teamcolour files, because the colour schemes of these chapters require a halved texture.

In this way, the Related Downloads should hopefully make the downloads more easily accessible and let you find a wider variety of interesting additions to Dawn of War.

The Semantic Website

Although it isn't necessarily my number one priority, I always try to make the site compatible and accessible to all. This includes different browsers, including text browsers. As such, a page should be semantically laid out, with headers being meaningfully used to show the structure of the document. Having done this process on the forums, I've now extended it to Skins@HWT as well, including using a form of image replacement on the page header.

Hopefully this work should make the site more accessible to those who need it, and shouldn't degrade it for those who don't
