The importance of email addresses

The following has been mentioned previously but seems to need to be mentioned again.
There are currently a number of downloads sat on our pending downloads page, some of which have been there for a couple of months.
Other than my moving house, the normal reason that downloads remain pending is that the submission is incomplete. While some downloads might just be re-using content with permission but not mentioning it, others fail to include an email address.
Including an email address in your submission is a requirement for having it approved. Part of the reason for its inclusion is if anyone wants to contact you regarding re-use in the future. It is also useful when I need to contact the author about their submission. If you don't include it then I have no way of getting in contact with you other than marking the download as "Awaiting contact from author".
If anyone knows the author of any download that is pending and has been for a while then please encourage them to get in contact with me so that their download can be fixed and approved.
For all future submissions, can authors please make sure they have read our submission guidelines (which are linked to from the submission page). The guidelines have been in place since April, and are intended to improve the quality and usefulness of submissions.
