Lots of new screenshots

Screenshots have now been added to a lot of the existing downloads, where there weren't any before. Some downloads are still missing screenshots (I always seem to have missed at least one download each time I think I'm done) but the majority are now complete.

Coming soon - new downloads! Now that the existing downloads are sorted, I'll hopefully be adding another six downloads. This may take until tomorrow, depending on how quickly I can create descriptions!

Now released - Quartered Space Marines

My second complete pattern pack (after the Halved Space Marines) has now been released - the Quartered Space Marines pattern pack. The pack adds new textures for all Space Marine units excluding the Scouts (and the Servitor and Skull Probe who aren't really Marines anyway). Thumbnails and screenshots are available on the download page.

Coming soon from IBBoard - Quartered Marines

To continue the trend with the Halved Space Marines, I will be releasing some Quartered Space Marine textures shortly. Work is almost complete, with the exception of some small but awkward changes to the Apothecary and Librarian. Current screenshots and place for comments (for registered members) is the Quartered Space Marines Texture thread on the forums.

More contributions from Sandwichwarrior!

We must once again say thanks to Sandwichwarrior for his continued contribution of excellent skins.

The first skin added tonight was the Camoflage pattern Space Marines v2 skin. This skin re-visits Sandwichwarrior's original Camoflage pattern Space Marines and adds to them with the techniques he's learnt since.

Also added have been two updated versions of the Eldar Aspect Warriors. The Fixed Colour Aspect Warriors skin will show all Aspect Warriors in their true Shrine colours for all armies in both single and multi-player mode. For those who want Shrine colours in single-player mode but visible differences in multi-player mode, there is also a normal Aspect Warriors skin pack that adds team coloured areas to the patterns in multiplayer games.

Once again I must say thank you to Sandwichwarrior for his great contributions, and I remind you all that you can contribute your own work as well.

File upload fixed and progress update

Sorry to anyone who has been trying to uploads files recently. Since the server move, the "Add a file" section of the Downloads had not been working. I've now fixed the issue, and you can now add your own contributions (as long as they are less than 2MB) to our database. All other downloads should be submitted using one of the methods described in "Submitting Your Work".

In other news, a bit more progress has been made with my quartered Space Marines, and more behind-the-scenes code has been written to improve the site. I will be finishing my University placement as a programmer in a little over a week, so I should have more time to devote to the site soon!

Recent releases

In the past two days we have had an influx of great new Eldar textures from old and new contributors.

Sandwichwarrior has released a Tiger Wraithlord to go with his Tiger Grav Tank. There are also some new releases of his Aspect Warrior patterns that will be released soon.

Farseer Cohinor has also submitted a collection of textures, making the Eldar Rangers into the camoflaged scouts that they should be - complete with a variety of 5 colour variations.

Thanks to everyone who contributes, and please submit your patterns, team colour files, badges and banners! Want to know if we'll host it? Check out our "Submitting Your Work" Article

Corrupted downloads fixed

Apologies to anyone who has recently encountered problems with the pattern files hosted on Skins@HWT. There was an issue with the download process corrupting files by cutting them off before they had finished. The problem has now been fixed, and everything should be OK if you download again.

All downloads transferred

Following our move to the new skins.hiveworldterra.co.uk domain, all pattern downloads have now been categorised by race and put into the Downloads section.

We will gratefully accept submissions from anyone, although please not that the upload system imposes a maximum size of 2MB. If you want to submit your skin to Skins@HWT (whether you are asking us to host it or have it hosted somewhere else) please read our Submitting your Work article.

New skins at the new location

Skins@HWT has now permanantly moved to its new location (skins.hiveworldterra.co.uk) and with that has some new skins. Thanks to Sandwich warrior we can now offer true-to-fluff Aspect Warrior patterns, available from this site without the popups and banners of DoWFiles.com!

Check them out in our Dawn of War Eldar Downloads section. All existing patterns will be moved to this downloads area over the coming days.

The site returns

Appologies for our recent down time, but according to the main DoWFiles.com website, the entire FileFront network moved hosts recently and so domain names weren't pointing to the correct machines for a while.

Also, sorry to anyone who tried to download the v1.2.1 of the Pattern Switcher - I was wondering why it still had a 0 download count, and it turns out I had pointed the download to a non-existant file! This has now been fixed and anyone wanting the updated version that correctly handles folders with underscores in the name can now get it.
