Iron Hands and Tanith join the fray
In the past couple of days there have been several submissions, all of which I will get round to adding soon.
First of the approved and listed submissions was havoc[night]'s Iron Hands Iron Farther skin for the Force Commander. Added today was a great Tanith and Gaunt's Ghost set of badges and banners from ArchimedesUK. This covers both pre- and post-lost regiments for the Imperial Guard.
Thanks to both of them for their submissions, and thanks to the others who have submitted files. The other files will hopefully be added by the end of tomorrow.
Winter Assault Desktop Wallpapers
Now available in a new download section are eightenn (yes, 18!) new wallpapers taken from the Winter Assault loading screens. Thanks to Skullcap for taking the time to capture each of these desktops and make this unofficial pack for the community.
The desktops are available as individual downloads in the new Miscellaneous Downloads area, or as one large Unofficial Winter Assault Desktop pack.
Two new textures from havoc[night]
Havoc[night] is comparatively new on the skinning scene, but already we are seeing some great textures from him. Newly released today and last night are the Iron Hands Space Marines, which add the look of bionics to your normal Space Marines, and Team Colourable Fire Dragons, which complement Sandwichwarrior's original Team Colourable Aspect Warrior skins very nicely for Winter Assault.
Hopefully we will see even more from havoc[night] in the future!
Feral Orks
Following some requests for more Ork skins instead of the almost-regular releases of various Space Marine textures, I added a Feral Ork texture to the website last night. The Feral Ork pattern removes the armour of the Boyz and Nobz and gives them a plainer appearance. More details and screenshots are available on the download page.
Mass Hangar-8 update
Following some new releases from Hangar-8, I've update the list with a few of his other patterns that I hadn't yet included.
Hangar-8 now has 15 contributions on the site, including a full reskin of the Space Marines with fixed colour eagle symbols!
The latest contributions are the Golden Eagle Chaplain, in-keeping with the Codex colour schemes, a Force Commander variant with a glowing blue Power Sword and some Team Colourable Chaos Beserkers, for those moments when you want Legion coloured frothing loons!
Note: both variations of the Golden Eagle Space Marine skins are regarded as v1.1. They both include the same improvements over the original version of the pattern, but the '1.4 style' version also alters the pattern to using the newer style of texture. v1.0 of the pattern has also been removed, on Hangar-8's request, so that only the latest versions are available.
Xen's textures now available
Some of you may know Xen, but you'd have to have been on the Relic Forums for quite a while. Way back in 2004, when the game was first released, Xen was one of the most prolific and major skinners on the Relic forums. After having been brought back into the fold by the release of Winter Assault, we now have permission to host his files!
We currently host all seven useful skins (the Raptor fix has been ignored because I think Relic have now fixed the issue themselves) and are looking forward to seeing what Xen can do with the new expansion pack.
So, what are you waiting for? Check out Xen's Dawn of War texture replacements!
50th Space Marine download added!
I've just added a new texture from Hands of Fate (the creator of the very original Drop Pods with Badge texture). This time it was a more conventional skin, but still going very much for the canon look.
The new Librarian with Badge adds a chapter badge as well as making him team colourable in a 3rd/4th Edition style - mainly Chapter colours, but retaining a blue arm as indication of his post.
So, download and enjoy our 50th Space Marine texture file! And don't forget that you can submit your own textures, badges, banners, tutorials or anything else that is Dawn of War related but not a full mod!
Evil Sunz and Waagh! Grimjaw 1.4 fix
Firstly, the fix. Part of the improvements of patch 1.4 were some 'optimisations' for low end machines. Following reports that the Grimjaw's Orks Warboss was showing up with untextured stikk bombs, it turned out that one of these 'optimisations' was the moving of the stikkbomb textures onto the main body texture. This causes problems with any existing Ork Warboss textures, but can easily be fixed. For anyone using patch 1.4, or using previous patches and planning to install it later or buy Dawn of War:Winter Assault, the new Grimjaw's Orks - Warboss Fix is now available. Note that this doesn't make any difference to anyone running patch 1.3 and before, or people not using a Warboss texture.
Next up, and as a follow on from the Checkered Ork, are the Evil Sunz - or at least Evil Sunz style. This texture adds flames up the front and back of the shoulder pads of the Orks and Nobz, removing the spikes on the Shoota Boyz at the same time to stop them interfering with the pattern. The texture is available as both black Evil Sunz flames and team colourable Evil Sunz flames.
Waaagh! Grimjaw update
Following a suggestion on the Relic Forums that I combine the Black and White Checkered Orks with the Grimjaw Orks, I have released a new version of Grimjaw's Orks.
The new Orks use the same old Grimjaw textures, while also adding black and white checks to the shoulder pads of the Nobz, Shoota Boyz and Tankbustas. It also gave me a chance to update the Grimjaw ammo textures with my new minor improvements.
Colouring added to Ork goggles
Following a request for a minor change (almost a fix to an 'omission' from the original textures by Relic) I have now added the Orks with Coloured Goggles, which adds team colouring to the goggles and bionic eyes of all Orks, not just the Trukk driver.
