All downloads transferred

Following our move to the new skins.hiveworldterra.co.uk domain, all pattern downloads have now been categorised by race and put into the Downloads section.

We will gratefully accept submissions from anyone, although please not that the upload system imposes a maximum size of 2MB. If you want to submit your skin to Skins@HWT (whether you are asking us to host it or have it hosted somewhere else) please read our Submitting your Work article.

New skins at the new location

Skins@HWT has now permanantly moved to its new location (skins.hiveworldterra.co.uk) and with that has some new skins. Thanks to Sandwich warrior we can now offer true-to-fluff Aspect Warrior patterns, available from this site without the popups and banners of DoWFiles.com!

Check them out in our Dawn of War Eldar Downloads section. All existing patterns will be moved to this downloads area over the coming days.

The site returns

Appologies for our recent down time, but according to the main DoWFiles.com website, the entire FileFront network moved hosts recently and so domain names weren't pointing to the correct machines for a while.

Also, sorry to anyone who tried to download the v1.2.1 of the Pattern Switcher - I was wondering why it still had a 0 download count, and it turns out I had pointed the download to a non-existant file! This has now been fixed and anyone wanting the updated version that correctly handles folders with underscores in the name can now get it.

New patterns contributed

Thanks to Hangar-8 and ShoeMaker for their contributions!

Hangar-8, badge and banner maker extraordinaire, has given his permission to list his Space Marines with fixed colour eagles and skulls and extra detail and detailed Chaos pattern packs. Screenshots will be added soon, with updates made to the listings when Hangar-8 skins more units!

ShoeMaker has also contributed a pattern - the Tempered Souls, a chapter of his own making.

Thanks to both skinners, and remember, we will accept fitting submissions from anyone, although we can't host files over 400KB ourselves.

Known minor bug in the Pattern Switcher

This is a warning to anyone who has the Dawn of War Pattern Switcher (any currently released version - v1.2 or below). There is a known bug in all of these versions. The Pattern Switcher will crash with an error message if you attempt to import from any sub-folder that contains the underscore character, so for example "Tiger_Grav_Tanks". This is a known bug and will be fixed in the next release that will be out shortly! In the mean time, please remove all underscores from folder names before attempting to import from them.

Skins from Sandwichwarrior

All races are now officially covered here at Skins@Hive World Terra! Thanks to Sandwichwarrior, we now have our first Eldar submission, which gives us at least one pattern for each of the standard races in Dawn of War.

Sandwich submitted both his original Camo Space Marines skin and his new Tiger Grav Tanks patterns in to our skinning archive.

Thanks to Sandwichwarrior and anyone else who submits any patterns, badges and banners or anything else to this site! If you can't see a way to submit it, then contact me and I'll tell you how to get it added. Don't forget that we don't just take skins for normal races - contributions for new races added by Mods are equally welcomed, just read our "Submitting Your Work" article.

Possible user submissions

I'd just like to say thank you to the visitor who submitted some teamcolour files to our downloads section. The files have been stored, and are still awaiting approval. I've downloaded them this morning, and will try to test them tonight. I will then have to wait for your reply, because as our policy states, we only accept canon contributions that are in-keeping with the feel of the Warhammer 40K universe. This means that if I do approve the downloads, they will have to be renamed and have the references to the Soviet badges removed.

I apologise for the strictness of this, but there are several sites out there already that allow you to contribute from any background (even though these items are in breech of Games Workshop's Inetellectual Property Rights), but Skins@HWT is not one of those sites.

Just remember, keep it canon and keep it cool!

Another new look for the website

It isn't quite as radical as the last time I went for a new look for the site, but for all of you with standards compliant browsers* you should see different effect on the Left Nav. With the power of CSS and its graceful degredation, old versions of Opera (v5 and v6) and all recent versions of IE should see a simplified version.

New textures from Chopsuey

I've had permission for these pattern downloads for some time now, and just never had a chance to add them. So, thanks to Chopsuey (from the Relic forums), we now have our first textures for Chaos and Orks.

Download Submission fixed

Appologies to anyone who has previously tried to submit their own badge or banner to the Downloads section of the site, but it has now been fixed! Any visitor can now submit their own work directly into the database, where it will be available to (after it has been approved).
