52nd Colth Mobilized released
Following quickly on from his previous release, DarkRaptor has released a second Imperial Guard teamcolour, badge and banner army scheme.
This new set, for the 52nd Colth Mobilized, includes a variety of teamcolours. Hopefully we will see more innovative army scheme sets from DarkRaptor soon.
Relic to release new Dawn of War Expansion Pack
As reported on Yahoo! Finance's PR Newswire and several other places, Relic and THQ will be releasing a new expansion pack for Dawn of War.
The new pack, currently planned for Quarter 4 of 2006, will feature two new races, one named as the Tau and the other as yet unnamed.
When the expansion pack is released, Skins @ Hive World Terra will, of course, be supporting it and playing host to any and all new skins, badges, banners, teamcolours and other associated files that fit in with the background.
In the mean time, feel free to discuss the expansion in our Expansion Pack Thread.
512th Cadian Orbital Defence released
Another update with a new file - this time from DarkRaptor. He has released the 512th Cadian Orbital Defence badge, banner and teamcolour set. Based on the regiment listed in the Imperial Guard Codex, you can now field them in Winter Assault.
Also, several downloads have now been updated to include example images where they previously didn't have any. This includes the 'Original' Space Marine textures (for those who didn't want to have the new style Barracks and Force Commander introduced in DoW 1.4) and Crystalking's recent teamcolour submissions.
Team Colourable Apothecary
Based on the Sanguinary Priest of the Blood Angels and some of the newer Apothecary colour schemes from Games Workshop, Adonis has released a Team Colourable Apothecary skin. The skin was actually added last night, so sorry for the delay in announcing it.
Many thanks to him for releasing the skin, and we hope to see more of his work if this is his first attempt at skinning!
Updated Command-line SGA Extractor
A useful tool for any Mod creator who wants to clone a race with a few minor changes while not having problems with colour bleed, the SGA Extractor now has an updated version.
The Command-line SGA Extractor v1.1 fixes two minor bugs and adds extra feedback and logging capabilities. It will also soon be released with the new versions of the Halved Marines Mod and the Quartered Marines Mod, as well as a forthcoming Ulthwe mod from Danimator.
Sons of Horus badges and banners released
Thanks to Graham Howe for submitting his interpretation of a pre-Heresy and post-Heresy Sons of Horus (formerly Lunar Wolves) badge and banner set. They have now been added to the downloads section.
The pre-Heresy Sons of Horus match the Games Workshop background, while the post-Heresy Sons of Horus are a great bit of interpretation and inspiration.
Black Templars released by MadMaffMan
Following posts on the Hive World Terra Forums and Relic News Forums about his progress with the skin, MadMaffMan has now release the Initiate and Neophyte skins from his Black Templars skin.
The skin is aimed at the Black Templars, but also works with other chapters for a crusading style.
Thanks to MadMaffMan for making another great submission, and hopefully we'll see the rest of the chapter-style soon.
New tutorial added - making areas teamcolourable
Following the release of the Chaos Cultists with colourable tattoos, I decided that I would convert the experience of making a non-teamcolourable area teamcolourable into a tutorial.
This tutorial can now be found in our Dawn of War Tutorials section under the title Making non-team colourable areas teamcolourable.
Hopefully the tutorial will prove useful to budding skinners who wanted to know the basics of how to make areas teamcolourable.
Saim-Hann-style Vyper and Chaos Cultists
Having recently installed the White Dwarf Screensaver and seen the cover with the Saim-Hann Vyper picture on it, I was inspired to use one of my revision breaks to create a new texture.
The Saim-Hann-style Vyper adds the Saim-Hann chevrons to the nose and makes the Vyper more predominantly the colour of your Craftworld. Hopefully Eldar players will feel a little less like they are missing out on new textures now!
Update: I have also just added some Chaos Cultists with Colourable Tattoos. They include a small but important change - the tattoo on their face is now teamcolourable under the Secondary colour, so they can further show their allegiance to their patron god.
Thunderhawk's updated Force Commander and other skins
Having sumbitted his original Chapter Coloured Force Commander back in August last year, Thunderhawk has now added an update and four new textures to the set!
Thunderhawk's Space Marines are now available for download, including an updated Force Commander, plus Apothecary, Librarian, Space Marines and Terminators.
