Astro Omegas Space Marines texture
It took a while to approve after having moved house, but the Astro Omegas Space Marines texture is now available.
The texture itself is based on a colour scheme created for a Games Workshop chapter creation competition, and the pack also includes a badge, banner and .teamcolour to recreate the Astro Omegas.
More downloads are still pending, but they are all currently waiting for a response from the author. Faster approval should return by the end of the month when I get broadband installed at home.
Second Soulstorm race revealed: Sisters of Battle
It has now been revealed by Gamespot that the Sisters of Battle will be the second Soulstorm race and the ninth Dawn of War race.
In preparation for their release, we now have a Sisters of Battle skins category in the textures/skins download area.
I look forward to fiery death from the Emperor's own battle nuns.
Temporary partial site closure
On Monday I will be moving house. This means that it will be several days until I get the phone line set up and several weeks until I get the broadband installed (because broadband providers are so slow). In the mean time then the site will be effectively closed to new submissions.
Until I get broadband then I will still try to check and update if I can, but it will generally be from work and so is more restricted as to what I can do.
Another announcement will follow when I have Internet access back.
Imperial Guard with no markings return
Iron_Father has now sent in a correction/update for his Imperial Guard with no Cadia markings texture. This update is now available in place of the original and due to the original mistake it is still numbered as v1.0.
If you downloaded the textures before now then please re-download them to get the correct set of textures. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Icon set images available
Having released several icon sets, mdcertainty's download pages now have screenshots and sample images. If you didn't want to download the icons because you didn't know what they looked like then now you can see before you download.
Thanks to mdcertainty for sending in the images. While we try to make images for all downloads, other tasks and real life sometimes mean we end up with a large backlog of images.
Temporary texture removal
Due to submission issues that have recently emerged the "Imperial Guard with no markings" texture pack has temporarily been removed from the site.
This is nothing to worry about. The author and submitter knows what the issue is and there will be an update soon. It is also known that the author is feeling suitably embarrassed about his mistake.
New Necron icon set
mdcertainty has been busy once again and has released a Necron icon set for Dark Crusade.
Thanks to mdcertainty for his on-going work. One day soon we'll have a full set of replacement icons for all races!
In other news we now have five downloads pending which are waiting for contact from the author. Some are awaiting responses, while others need the author to get in contact with us because they didn't supply an email address. If you are the creator/submitter of any of the items that are in the pending list then please contact us and resolve the issues so that your download can join the list with mdcertainty's.
New Chaos icon set
mdcertainty has been busy with another set of HUD icons, this time for Chaos.
The Chaos icon set contains a full set of icons of the in-game models using the Iron Warriors colour scheme and some custom textures. If you're getting bored of the existing icons then they're a good replacement to spruce up your interface.
mdcertainty also has an Eldar icon set in the works, so keep an eye out for more icons coming soon.
Dawn of War Pattern Switcher v3 released
As promised, the Dawn of War Pattern Switcher has now reached Version 3.0.
Following quite a major rewrite with the release of Dark Crusade, version three pre-empts the release of Soulstorm with a more configurable and responsive application.
If you've got previous versions of the Pattern Switcher then now is the time to update. If you've never heard of it before then read on...
Coming soon - Pattern Switcher v3
Following the release of information on a third expansion pack for Dawn of War I started updating the Pattern Switcher.
Rather than wait for the release of the new game and hard-coding more values, the Pattern Switcher now works from configuration files. The plan is that the new Pattern Switcher should be compatible with Dawn of War: Soulstorm with no code changes, only configuration updates.
As an added bonus, the update also improves some of the workings and makes the tool compatible with mods that use SGA archives for their textures.
