Sons of Sigmar army scheme update

Just a few days after releasing v1.0 of the scheme SquireJames has released v1.1 of the Sons of Sigmar army scheme. The update keeps the scheme and badge the same but improves the contrast between the two-tailed comet and the banner background.

Also added are screenshots of the army scheme. Thanks to SquireJames for providing the images.

Sons of Sigmar army scheme available

Following on from his Imperial Guard Rifle Corps., Squire James has now released the Sons of Sigmar Space Marine army scheme.

The new army scheme is based on the old Rogue Trader (Warhammer 40,000 1st Edition) link of the Warhammer World being a planet within the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Sigmar, the Empire emperor-turned-god, is the Primarch of this Legion of Space Marines, who are one of the missing legions. Not entirely true-to-fluff, but not entirely impossible in various versions of Games Workshop's history either.

Dark Angels from Iron_Father released

The previously mentioned Dark Angels texture pack from Iron_Father has now been added to the list.

Although the texture pack is aimed at a better Dark Angels style the pack is fully team colourable and so can be used with any colour scheme. A suitable Dark Angels scheme, which Iron_Father's readme helps you create, will give the classic green Dark Angels and white-bone Deathwing colourings.

21st Karedian colour scheme now available, and other pending downloads

The 21st Karedian colour scheme from General_Sturmm has now been approved. While the download does not follow our submission guidelines and does not include a readme, it has been decided that single .teamcolour files can be exempt from this requirement as they are effectively a collection of colours and a name. Full army schemes (.teamcolour with badge and banner) still require a complete readme file.

Also, we still have four downloads pending. If the authors do not get in contact with the site by the end of the month then the downloads will unfortunately have to be deleted.

On a more positive note Iron_Father does have a large pack of Dark Angels textures pending that were too big for the submission form, and so aren't shown in the list. These will hopefully be available in the next day or two after I clear up a couple of points with Iron_Father, so watch this space!

FAQ section now searchable

Following some development work on the code that powers the FAQ section of the site there have now been a few improvements.

Most of the FAQ section should continue to function as it always has done (although some old links may not jump to the correct point in the page any more). The main improvement for visitors, though, is the new search functionality.

As well as letting you search the content of the questions and answers in the FAQs then the search is also done in such a way that it can easily be bookmarked or linked to, making it easier to point someone to a collection of relevant results.

If anyone has any other questions that they think should be in the FAQ then please contact us.

BobaHat's Dawn of War/Winter Assault Warboss now available

Back in late September BobaHat submitted a full pack of "BobaHat's Fluffy Ork textures". The textures included the new Dark Crusade and Winter Assault units, but the Warboss texture didn't work with anything except Dark Crusade as the expansion pack had changed the leader texture file name for every race.

BobaHat later submitted an additional texture for the Winter Assault/Dawn of War version of his Warboss texture, and it is now available.

Rifle Corps get screenshots

The Rifle Corps and Naval Detachment army schemes from Squire James have now had their screenshots added. Squire James submitted the screenshots a little while ago, but I have been busy behind the scenes recently and only just got round to adding them.

If any other authors would like to contribute screenshots like Squire James has done then it would be a great help. If you do not already know the address then please contact us for details of where to send screenshots to.

Tau Commander texture approved

We've finally had a response from one of our list of long-time pending authors. Core's Team Colourable Tau Commander is now available for download.

There are now only five downloads pending, all of which have been there for between two and three months. If you know any of the authors then please tell them to get in contact with me so that their files can be corrected and approved.

Knee Pad Marines!

After a brief mix-up with files, and following on from yesterday's approval of the Trim Colourable Knee Pad Force Commander, Stfas now has the matching Tactical and Assault Marines and Sergeants available on the site.

More downloads will be approved as they are submitted and as authors of pending downloads get in contact with us.

The importance of email addresses

The following has been mentioned previously but seems to need to be mentioned again.

There are currently a number of downloads sat on our pending downloads page, some of which have been there for a couple of months.

Other than my moving house, the normal reason that downloads remain pending is that the submission is incomplete. While some downloads might just be re-using content with permission but not mentioning it, others fail to include an email address.

Including an email address in your submission is a requirement for having it approved. Part of the reason for its inclusion is if anyone wants to contact you regarding re-use in the future. It is also useful when I need to contact the author about their submission. If you don't include it then I have no way of getting in contact with you other than marking the download as "Awaiting contact from author".

If anyone knows the author of any download that is pending and has been for a while then please encourage them to get in contact with me so that their download can be fixed and approved.

For all future submissions, can authors please make sure they have read our submission guidelines (which are linked to from the submission page). The guidelines have been in place since April, and are intended to improve the quality and usefulness of submissions.
