Ira Aduro's Avatar is released

The wait wasn't too long between submission, request for update and release, and Ira Aduro's Avatar retexture is now available!

There aren't any screenshots available just yet, but I can promise you that it is a great new skin with a wonderful level of detail and crispness. Some details remain team colourable, and the new style of flame and armour is a nice improvement over the original.

Hopefully we'll be lucky enough to see more from Ira Aduro at some point.

Great new avatar texture - but it is still pending!

There's currently a great re-texture of the Eldar Avatar in our pending list, but unfortunately it is going to have to stay there for now. The creator of the texture has gone to all of the trouble of creating a new icon, but hasn't included a name or contact address in the readme.

If you are the author, or can get a message to the author, we need an updated readme that complies with our submission guidelines. As soon as we get that then everyone can enjoy this great new texture.

More team colourable Whirlwind

Other work and overtime got in the way, but I've finally approved T-5a's More Team Colourable Whirlwind that he submitted on Wednesday. The texture basically adds additional Secondary colouring so it isn't so mono-coloured.

Also, as I previously warned, four downloads have now been purged from our pending list.

All four were submitted in September/October last year and required the author to contact us. We haven't heard anything from the author, and so we are assuming that they don't care about their own downloads. If they don't care about them enough to email us then we won't host them.

Please ensure that all submissions follow our "Submission Guidelines", which are linked to from the submission form, so that your downloads don't suffer the same fate.

Rising Sun Killers texture and army scheme released

T-5a has submitted and released the starts of a new texture set, including a badge, banner and .teamcolour. The new textures add what could, from a fashion point of view, be called 'alternative' style features to some of the units.

The Rising Sun Killers is the name of the included .teamcolour file, badge and banner. The badge and banner are based on the old Japanese "Rising Sun" flag, but the download was still approved because it was sufficiently abstract and not nationalistic.

Codex Harlequin from Seaglen

Seaglen has released another new texture, this time for the Eldar. The new Codex Eldar Harlequin removes the clashing colours and makes it look more like Games Workshop's table top models. There is still some team colouring to differentiate the harlequins of different craftworlds, but the harlequin checks are now always the same colours.

Ornate Commissar released

Today, Seaglen submitted a new texture for the Imperial Guard - an Ornate Imperial Commissar.

The commissar is based on Diviator's Golden Commissar and makes the Commissar even closer to the table top models.

Tau texture set and Chaos Renegade army schemes

Firstly, the army schemes. Briarus has continued his string of army schemes (a set of badges, banners and .teamcolour files, as opposed to individual items) and has now released the 4th edition Renegades army scheme pack containing twenty-three teamcolours and fifteen badge and banner sets. All of the schemes are sourced from material on the Games Workshop website and are great for filling out the Chaos army with additional armies who aren't the big name chapters from the Horus Heresy.

Having released the Land Speeder and Scout textures back in 2005 under the Insomniax team name, LedMirage has now returned with a huge Tau army re-texture. When unzipped the pack contains over 60MB of textures for almost all of the Tau units and buildings, plus reworked badges and banners. Thanks to LedMirage for letting us list his new texture pack while he hosts the files.

There are still a number of downloads pending and awaiting updates from authors. If the owners of the older downloads do not get in contact with the site before the end of the month (part of the problem is that we have no way of getting in contact with them) then they will have to be declined as they do not comply with the submission guidelines.

Enjoy the new content!

Two new downloads pending - not following guidelines

Two new downloads have been added by two separate individual this weekend. While the game content of both appears suitable for approval the readmes do not contain all of the information required in the submission guidelines.

As yet another reminder to everyone, all downloads must follow the submission guidelines or else they will not be approved.

Vespid Sting Wings made team colourable

Radulykan has now released two version of a Team Colourable Vespid Sting Wing texture.

As its name suggests, the texture makes the Vespid more colourable (including, based on screenshots, team colourable skin). The exact difference in the two textures are currently unknown, other than that the updated version has more variety of colourability.

Thanks to Radulykan for submitting his work.
